All-Ukrainian mental health programme

What do you ask it most often - today, this week, all year? And what do they ask you?

I think for most Ukrainians, it would be a short "How are you?". Just two small words contain all the anxiety and hope of wartime...

And what is usually written in response? The laconic "I'm OK" is often, unfortunately, translated quite differently: "I'm barely holding on, but I'm ashamed to complain".

We know this for a fact because 70% of Ukrainians say in surveys that they feel stressed or very nervous. However, only 2% seek psychological help. "It's not the right time: there's a war going on," the rest explain.

However, let's be honest: this is the same as not complaining about physical pain. To endure it, to hide the symptoms until the moment when resuscitation is needed...

Our mental health is invisible, but it needs the same support as our physical health: pain management, and therapy for disorders. Pain is not something to be ashamed of or to hide. It is also normal to be not OK. Talking about it and seeking help is not only the right thing to do but also the responsible thing to do for yourself and those around you.

Throughout the year, many government agencies, NGOs, and Ukrainian and foreign experts have been working on the All-Ukrainian Mental Health Programme to ensure that Ukrainians' mental health is best supported.

And today, the communication campaign of the All-Ukrainian Mental Health Programme "How are you?" is launched on the initiative of Olena Zelenska   https://howareu.com/ . It will include:

📌Evidence-based self-help techniques and mobile applications;
📌 Contacts of psychological help hotlines;
📌videos that teach you how to overcome stress;
📌online advice from psychologists;
📌webinars by world experts in stress management;
📌experience and life hacks of stars.

A healthy psyche, the desire, and the strength to live is a personal victory that everyone needs no less than a great common victory over the enemy.

This is exactly what we are fighting for. So that in response to the next "How are you?" everyone in the country could sincerely say: "I'm very well!" 💙💛

The Interdepartmental Coordination Council under the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine is the platform for developing and making decisions.
